This site is dedicated to the memory of Stuart Curtis.

Stuart Curtis was born in Chicago, Ill., to Charles C. and Laura M. Curtis. He was a professional jazz musician, piano and woodwind teacher, musical instrument repair technician, and, most recently, a registered nurse. His music career included touring Europe and playing in the bands and orchestras of various musicals, including “Cats,” while living in Hamburg, Germany. He moved to Corvallis in 1998, and began his several-year tenure as the service department manager of Gracewinds Music. Afterward, he studied nursing at Linn-Benton Community College and then worked as a registered nurse at the Regency Albany nursing home. He directed and played in numerous bands in Corvallis and surrounding communities. Survivors include his sons, Charles Curtis and Samuel Curtis, both of Corvallis; his sister, Martha Curtis, and her husband, Bruce Berryhill, of Richmond, Va.; his mother, Laura Curtis, also of Richmond; and many friends.
